    Terrific job on the windmill!
I suspected that thing was a success and now I know it is. Dave had all the answers…no stumbling or fumbling or dodging anything. He’s straight on…
Let’s talk soon about “another” subject!

  2. Geno, this is really a wonderful piece. How interesting to note that the turbine is operating at 50% capacity– that’s almost unheard of! Thank you for putting this together. Dave did an excellent job, as always.

  3. Geno – This is an informative video. Your next video on the HS turbine should be interviews with the neighbors. Some have complained to the Board of Health about real health problems stemming from this turbine. These health issues are real and are causing grief to our neighbors on Nantucket – they should not be ignored or dismissed by our Town leaders, our fellow citizens or our health professionals. The Town and the School Department are responsible for any ill effects of this turbine – this needs to be taken very seriously.

This is an industrial wind turbine, and does not belong in or near a residential neighborhood. This was erected as a science experiment – time to take it down and switch to a more passive green energy generator – solar arrays on the roof of the High School could generate even more power than the turbine.

Let’s find out what the real capacity factor was over the first year in operation, (it’s not the 50% capacity factor at the time of filming this video). Also, why is the school department way over budget for its electric costs this year if this turbine is working so well?

  4. I agree with Mr Aylward…in that the neighbors do need to be interviewed for their experiences…does the turbine impact them in any way that detracts from their lives…the one thing i do disagree with the facilities manager on…it is not simply the “visual” that folks have a problem with…google the 292 ft mistake in newburyport and compare those neighbors to the neighbors in Nantucket…turbines need to be “good neighbors”…if not set them back more safely!
